Senior Project Officer (Smart Energy) – Sharing Cities, Greater London Authority - Closing date: 17 Dec 2017

Make a difference for London’s smart energy future

This is your opportunity to take a key role demonstrating how innovative and integrated uses of technologies, digital data and behaviour change can transform the way London and cities across Europe work together to improve urban energy systems and the lives of their residents.

The Greater London Authority led a consortium bid to the Horizon 2020 Smart Cities and Communities, part of the European Commission’s framework programme for research and innovation.

The proposal (Sharing Cities) was successful and since 2016 they’ve been using a €25 million grant and organisational investments to implement ambitious plans for integrating energy, transport and other city infrastructure, using the latest data and technology driven innovations and business models.

This is a genuinely pan-European project. London is home to the programme management office and one of three lead cities, along with Lisbon and Milan. Other European cities are also part of the consortium group. As home to the demonstrator area, the Royal Borough of Greenwich will be a key local partner. Industry and academic partners bring the number of organisations involved to approximately thirty.

You will lead coordination and delivery of the activities associated with the Sustainable Energy Management Systems (SEMS) work stream of the Sharing Cities programme.

Application closing date: Sunday 17 December 2017 at 23:59 GMT.
